Nick Davenport spent nearly 30 years at Willis, where he was a board member of both group operating companies, wholesale and retail, and of a number of overseas offices. He was a director responsible for Africa for 10 of those years. More recently he was a board member of Chubb Europe. In addition to his role at One Re he is currently chairman of a Lloyd’s Managing Agent and a board member of a French insurance company .
Nick has a particular affinity for Africa, both Francophone and Anglophone, having travelled extensively there in the early part of his career as a reinsurance broker.

Andrew Lewis ACII
Chief Executive Officer
Andrew started his career with IGI Insurance Company in South Africa as management trainee in 1988, being seconded to IGI Botswana in 1990 as a property and casualty underwriter. In 1991 he moved to England where he attended the CII College of Insurance, qualifying with an ACII.
After completing his studies, Andrew worked in the London Insurance Market – firstly as a London Market Underwriter and then as a Director of a Lloyd’s broking firm. After six years in the London market, Andrew left England and returned to South Africa to start the Baronscourt Group. In 2003 Andrew, together with Robert Lewis, merged CGSM and Baronscourt to form Global Alliance Holdings which, having sold its Mozambique Insurance Company to ABSA/Barclays, changed its name to One Alliance Limited. In 2012 Andrew, together with Robert Lewis, formed One Re Limited and is currently the CEO. Andrew continues to serve on numerous insurance related Company Boards.

Educated at Washington University, Ronald is a strategic consultant in the financial services sector with extensive experience in the US, Asia and Europe. His career in the investment business includes research, portfolio management, institutional and mutual fund business development. Previously, Ronald was Senior Executive Vice President and Managing Director of AXA Investment Managers; Vice Chairman of Barclays asset management business; Senior Advisor at the Financial Services Authority; Managing Partner of the Watch House Alliance; Chief Executive Officer/Founder of ABG Sundal Collier ASA (“ABGSC”), a listed specialist Nordic investment bank; and Chief Executive of Chi-X Asia Pacific, successfully developing new market trading venues across the Asian region.
Ronald has been involved in founding numerous successful investment management companies in Asia, Japan, the UK and continental Europe. More recently, he established the Greater China/Asia business of the Promontory Financial Group, leading efforts to improve governance, risk control and regulatory effectiveness for financial companies in Asia from a base in China.

Andrew Bak ACA
Chief Financial Officer
Andrew started his career at Mazars in 1989, qualifying firstly as an AAT and then as an ACA. In 1997, Andrew moved to Bermuda and joined PwC as an audit manager; spending three years managing a portfolio of US SEC registered reinsurance groups and global asset management companies. In 2000, Andrew returned to the UK and joined Grant Thornton as a senior manager, advising on turnaround and exit strategies for insurance groups and providing expert witness services on (re)insurance accounting matters. In 2004, Andrew left public practice and joined Wellington Underwriting plc as its Assistant Finance Director.
Over the next eight years, Andrew held several senior finance positions within the London Market, including Deputy Group Finance Director at Equity Insurance in 2006, Head of Finance at Chaucer Holdings plc in 2009 and Finance Director at ANV Syndicate Management in 2012. Andrew’s specialist areas of experience include M&A due diligence, post-acquisition integration, re-domestication and financial modelling. Andrew joined One Re as the Chief Financial Officer in May 2013.

Chris Sinclair CA (SA)
Chris is a Chartered Accountant (South Africa) and has experience in Financial Services, Information Technology and the Healthcare industry. In 1998, Chris was one of the four founding members of The IQ Business Group. By 2001, it was the largest non-listed information technology company in South Africa. His roles included group FD, then director of various subsidiaries and chairman of the Australian subsidiary, and ultimately CEO of the global group of 25 companies. Chris has been involved in the acquisition, formation, growth and disposal of both subsidiaries and joint ventures and drives turnaround activities for various clients as well as certain IQ group subsidiaries and associates.
Throughout his career, Chris has worked in a wide range of projects, including compliance implementations, compliance reviews, process automation, process enhancement, governance planning, and process optimisation through automation. He has also performed in tax structuring, financial modelling, transaction structuring, accounting reconstructions, audit preparation, forecasting and budgeting activities in the property, insurance and aviation sectors. He is also frequently called upon as an expert witness. Clients Chris has worked for include Old Mutual pls, Sanlam, Morgan Stanley, Investec Bank, ABSA Bank (owned by Barclays Bank), Nedbank, Standard Bank, SARS, ExecuJet, SuperGroup, Business Connexion, and TIIA Cref USA.
